Welcome to Frugal Cakey!

I am a Food Technology Teacher and I decided to combine my cake making and decorating hobby with my teaching skills to produce a series of tutorials. As my Facebook page has grown in popularity I have been asked to share much more than my hobby – I’ve been asked to share my frugal way of living! 

So what was once all about cake now looks at Frugal Feasts, savoury dishes, family cooking on a budget, bargains, cheap days out, activities with your kids or grandkids and frugal shopping. 

I am showing you an insight into the questions I ask when shopping and how I scrutinise “bargains” to make frugal shopping choices! I am passionate about teaching people to cook, giving them the tools to be confident and successful in the kitchen so I will be sharing my favourite recipes, sweet and savoury – there will of course be plenty of cake! I love bargains, frugal living and making the most out of what we have. I truly believe that sometimes less is more and the key to happiness is not always money. Gratitude, a positive outlook and trying to laugh goes a long way to enjoying this rollercoaster of a life!
